I retraced my steps
Back to my root
And I was me.
Fresh face
So much innocence,
An open mind
To behold the world.
Optimism flowed
To high heavens,
And even beyond
on a very good day;
I was to take my first step.
And did I trip and fall?
I could have;
But I refused to accept
I could never walk,
I rose to my feet.
Here I stand
Thousands of miles traveled
I look back at how far I’ve come
And that first step
Still sparkles a zeal
For the journey ahead.
elegant piece of poetry.
Very well written and I enjoy it. I love that no matter how far in life we’ve gone we can look back and see where we were and learn from it and still have a wonderful journey ahead of us to look forward to. Well done!
Thanks for sharing and have a blessed day.
